Q&A with Marlington athlete Beau Himmelheber
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Football season has been quite a learning process with having a brand new coach, lots of new faces and starters to our team, learning a new offense and a new defense.”
Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I’ve been pleased with how I've been performing this year but I know I have a lot left in the tank that I haven’t shown yet and I’m ready for these next 6 weeks for sure.”
How do you feel your team has played?
“I’m proud of how me and my team have been playing this year. We’ve improved every single game this year and every game we’ve played we’ve been so close to pulling it out and had a chance to take home the victory.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“It sucks for all of us being 0-4 but we know with just the smallest changes we could flip that record around easily. We’re all learning and it’s a process and it takes time and I'm excited to see our improvement every single week these next 6 weeks.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“We are playing really hard and if we just limit our penalties in the red zone and just small mistakes we can be a deadly team and we’re going to get there and I know it for a fact.”

Q&A with Fairland defensive back Steeler Leep
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Our season so far has been pretty good. We are 3-1 with a great win over a tough Portsmouth West team, and a loss in a close game against number one ranked Ironton in division 5.”
Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I am not satisfied with the way I have played so far this season. I have not played bad, but I have certainly not played as well as I can or would like to. I’m looking to improve upon that as the season progresses.”
How do you feel your team has played?
“Our team has played really well. We are mostly sophomores, but we don’t back down from anyone. Like I said earlier we went toe to toe with the best team in division 5, before they eventually pulled away late in the 4th. We’re athletic, tough, and we love each other.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel as if we can work on execution. Because we are younger we are prone to making mistakes. I, along with other seniors or captains, must do a better job of encouraging the younger guys to do their job.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The keys for the team to be successful moving forward are simple. Execute, execute, execute. Although we are a younger team, we are usually the most talented on the field. With proper execution, we are an outstanding football team with amazing potential.”
