Q&A with Olentangy wide receiver Andrew Leech
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went pretty good. It was definitely a learning experience for me, as it was my first year playing varsity football. As a team we can improve for sure but I think we played pretty well for being with a completely new coach and culture.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Baseball season is coming up so right now I am doing baseball workouts all week and then on Fridays I go to the football lifting.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe our team has a good chance to have a very successful upcoming season. If we continue to work hard over the off-season and throughout the summer then we should be good by the time the season starts.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We have a tough schedule this year so I don’t think I can say one team in general is the toughest. The rivalry games with Orange and Berlin are always big ones.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“We play a lot of really good football players and with being a slot WR I face off against several great safeties and outside linebackers. Not one of them in particular is better than the other.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I really think we got a run in the state. A majority of our team returns. Our defense is massive.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Of course, everyone knows Masline will probably be our hardest competition but I’m confident this year we should be able to pull it off. They have a lot of great players and great coaching staff, and a very disciplined group of young men.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I’m not really concerned with the individual player only because it’s a team sport and I don’t care how good you are. You can’t do it without other components [that] sometimes you don’t calculate.”
