Q&A with Moeller tight end Sam Hamilton
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall the season went great. We started off slow with a few losses to great teams like Ben Davis and East Central. But once we figured everything out around week 4, it was all gas and no breaks from there on. We got all the way to the State Semifinals against Springfield and lost in a tough game by 1. We will be back next year.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I don’t know what team will be the toughest yet, but I am looking forward to playing St. Edward’s the most. We lost a very good game to them by one touchdown and I’m confident we will give them a great game this upcoming season.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“From the film I’ve watched, I think playing against Daniel Vollmer and the Bombers will be a tough game, but I know we have the squad to beat them.”

“Next year I know we will make a good run. No doubt in my mind that our team will come back stronger and we will show the state we are a real powerhouse.”

Q&A with Archbishop Moeller tight end Cooper McCutchan

How did the high school football season go overall?
“I think my sophomore football season was awesome and I was lucky to be a part of it. I’ve only been a tight end for two years, but I was fortunate to learn from a great senior, Eli Jacon Duffy who is going to play at Bowling Green along with Coach Finn and Coach Bathiany. The experience I gained will definitely help prepare me for my junior year. I know where I need to be physically and what improvements I have to make.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I’m currently playing varsity basketball at Moeller and trying to help this team however I can. We have a great team and hopefully will make a run at a state championship. Once the season is over, I’ll get back to football training and workouts. I have some specific goals I want to meet before the season and it’s going to take some hard work to get there.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“That’s probably a better question for the senior captains and Coach Bathiany. But I know Coach B and our schedule will have us ready to make a run.”

What team do you think will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I haven’t even seen the schedule yet, but I already know it’s going to be crazy. This past season, every week was a huge test. We played 3 of the best teams in Indiana, St. Edward’s, MLK in Detroit and our usual games in the GCL.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Not sure, but I felt like we played 3, 4 and 5 stars every week last year. So, I’m sure it will be similar this coming season.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I absolutely want to play college football and I believe I have all the tools needed to be a tight end and play at a high level. I love basketball and I know it’s played a very important role in my development as an athlete and competitor, but right now my focus is pursuing college football.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“As of now, I’m pretty fortunate to have 11 D1 offers from Kentucky, Furman, Louisville, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Ball State, Toledo, Purdue, Boston College, Vanderbilt, and Indiana. I have spoken with several other schools as well and we will see where that goes in the spring.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“As a sophomore, recruiting contact is still pretty limited, but I’ve had some great conversations with all of the schools who have offered and a few others who I just met recently. I also had a couple awesome game day visits with Coach Wallace at Louisville and Coach Stepp at Cincinnati last year.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I camped at Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Kentucky and Furman last summer. Like I mentioned before, I also had Game Day visits at Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati. But I have a lot of other schools that I still want to visit this year.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“Right now, we are still trying to figure out my spring schedule. We plan on visiting some of the schools who have offered, but there will be a few other schools thrown into the mix as we get closer to spring practices.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite team growing up was Notre Dame. My dad and grandpa are lifelong fans and they took me to a few games with them. I definitely love the campus and all of the game day traditions.”

Q&A with Anthony Wayne quarterback Grant Kinnee
How did the high school football season go overall?
“I believe our football season went much better than people expected. Going 10-3 after losing the seniors we lost is pretty impressive. Everyone did their parts in order to make the season go as well as it did.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“In the off season I will be training 2-3 times a week with my personal trainer while also lifting with the team. I also work with a QB Coach, who I will be throwing with 2 times a week.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel as though every year our team is put under the radar. With that being said I think our team next year will have the chance of being better than last year’s team. We have a lot of key guys returning like Braden Gardner and Aiden Lohmeyer. Along with that we have some younger guys coming up who get to show who they are like Brayden Cole and Cam Miller.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest teams on our schedule will be Perrysburg, Whitmer, and Findlay. Respect to those teams. They are extremely well coached and disciplined.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t think there is one single player who will be the toughest for our team. Going back to the last question, those teams are all filled with great athletes.”

Q&A with Mount Healthy wide receiver Jeremiah Sanders

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Everything for football has been great honestly, can’t wait for my senior year, I’ve been working and ready to shock the world.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“I think we could improve on our discipline, we have everything else but discipline is what is going to get us to state.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I really wouldn’t say pleased because I always want to improve and perfect my craft and I haven’t even reached my goal to where I want to be.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I feel like our play is rare for high school, we like to spread and have our QB1 sling the ball around. This day and age people still run wing T and what separates us is our passing.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My biggest goal moving forward is to have my best season and do what I can to make sure my team succeeds.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have a few more d1 colleges recruiting me and I am humbled to even be on their radar.”

Q&A with Valley running back Gabe McNeil

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Everything for football recently is going pretty well and I have really just been lifting and preparing for next season.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“I think my team can continue to make huge improvements like we did last season by putting in a lot of work to make up for the areas we are weak in. My school is very small and has little numbers, so we have to put in a lot of work to catch up.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I think my performance last season was pretty good, however there is still a ton of room for improvement which I will make sure to focus on in this off season.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“The play of my team has been phenomenal even though looking at stats would say otherwise. Our team lost just about every starter the season prior so we had a lot of shoes to fill and even this year, we only had one senior that was able to play so we were young in the beginning but were starting to mold into a threat nearing the end of the season and I couldn't be prouder of my team.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?

Q&A with Darby running back Kaiden Molnar

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?

I also had a mid-season injury that caused me to miss out on two games but I did some pretty amazing things this season that went all-district and all-OCC.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“For most of my teammates it’s their mindset but overall it’s just not making the little mistakes that we make as a whole.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I feel like at times my team was hot and we played together, and at other times we played as individuals and got in our own heads too much.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?

Q&A with Darby running back Kaiden Molnar
How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Football wise things were pretty good, we didn’t have the best season record but it’s the most tight knit team our team has been in a couple years.

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“Yes, I’m happy with how I played this year, I made multiple honors and bounced back from my injury better than I was playing before the injury.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“Honestly I feel good. A lot of people stepped up this year. We had an abnormal amount of injuries this year which set us back a bunch but I’m proud of all my guys that stepped up.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My goals going forward are to push myself and my team to become the best we can so we can have a great season record wise. Another goal is to not get injured. I want to be an all-state athlete.”

“My goals going forward are to put on more muscle and become faster to truly dominate any opponent I am put against. I want to become the best I can be to help my team win no matter what I have to do.”
