Q&A with Gilmour Academy defensive back Brayden Green
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The regular season went pretty successful in our eyes but we all really know what we want for our team and it is to get past that hump of getting the first playoff win so there is more work to do.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am a dual sport athlete and I train all year around. I am currently coming off of a state championship season in the triple jump for division 2/3 and now I am transitioning to outdoor which I lift and train for every day. Football wise I start training after the track state championship is over in early June.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like our team next year will be young but that’s what excitement and optimism it gives me for next season. We know the expectations, we know the amount of work we need to put in, and we know the mindset we need to have for next season, so I say that we will be on the right track for next season.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team without a doubt will be our new competitor Villa Angela St. Jose. They are a new opponent this year and they are said to have star ranked athletes but the thing about Gilmour football is when we play as a team and meet the intensity with anyone, we are hard to shut down.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The toughest individual opponent we will face off with will have to be 4 star, 6’5, 250 pound edge Dominic Kirks.”
