......................................................................................................
Maumee wide receiver Carson Graetz
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel great about our team next season. We have a great group of guys, especially our returning varsity starters from last season. Our guys bring a unique mindset to each and everything we do. Cody Wulf and Liam Murphy are returning linebackers for us who I think will make a big impact. Cody Wulf received all-league 3rd team honors as a sophomore. Another name I think you’ll hear about a lot is Chase Maulucci. Chase is a freak of nature. His speed and strength are some things I think will cause offenses to really have to key in on where he is at all times. Other than that our line on both sides of the ball have some returning starters and underclassmen who are ready to prove themselves on the varsity field. Keishon Midcalf is another guy I think will really make a name for himself. Keishon is a class of ‘25 running back. He’s been getting reps on varsity since freshman year. This season in limited action I think he did well for himself [after] playing under great senior running backs his freshman and sophomore years.”

Q&A with Washington Courthouse athlete Mason Coffman

How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall I felt like our team took a deep run in the playoffs and had a lot of talent. I think we did a really good job on both sides of the ball especially in the first part of the season. I think we all know now especially that strength and physicality is the one thing we are missing and the thing that could take us from a round 2 exit to a state run.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“As of now I’m running indoor track and doing a lot of speed training and explosive workouts as well as heavy lifting with our football team. Indoor track season crosses over into outdoor season where I will also be running and something I'm looking forward to.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe that our team has much better leaders and a better connection with the classes coming up. Although I think that last year was probably our most talented year ever. I think we won’t have a problem picking up where we left off as long as we get in the weight room this off season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I feel like Jackson will be the toughest team on our schedule because of the physicality and toughness they bring.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think Cade Walford is the toughest individual player we will play. He is a 3-year starter with great football knowledge and a really talented football player.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I intend to run track in college at a division 1 program running anything from the 60m up to the 400m.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“For football I’ve been getting recruited by Bowling Green State, Ohio University, Wake Forest, Dayton University, Yale, and Ohio Dominican.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?

“I have visited Ohio University and Wittenberg University.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“I don’t have any planned trips as of now.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up I loved the Buckeyes and still do. Being from Ohio and them being such a dominant team since I could remember has drawn me as a close fan. As I get older I have come to like Florida and Alabama, mostly because of the style of football and speed those teams bring.”

Q&A with St. Xavier running back Steven Napier

Q&A with Olentangy quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer
How did the high school football season go overall?

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Maumee wide receiver Carson Graetz
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our season might not have gone the way we planned record wise but as a team we grew and evolved together. We continued to get better each week regardless of what the scoreboard showed. Individually I grew in so many different ways. My teammates and coaches have taught me so much about myself as a football player and as a young man. I saw myself improve as the season went on, getting better every week.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“As of right now I am lifting weights 5-6x a week (3x as a team with our off- season athletes), sometimes even twice a day. I do plyometrics 3x a week to improve my footwork, explosiveness, and speed.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Eastwood is always a great football team to play. They have a really great program over there from the ground up.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t have a person in mind that specifically I think will be the toughest. We’re going to prepare for everyone like we are playing for a state championship.”
